Operation Tara - €830,000 of Controlled Drugs Seized in Lucan, Co. Dublin, 5th and 6th April 2026

As part of ongoing investigations under Operation Tara, Gardaí have seized approximately €830,000 of controlled drugs.

Gardaí from the Ronanstown Drugs Unit conducted a search of a premises in Lucan, Co. Dublin on Sunday 5th April 2026.

During this search, one kilo of suspected ketamine with an approximate value of €60,000 was recovered.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda Station in Co. Dublin.

A number of follow-up searches were conducted this morning, Monday 6th April 2026, which resulted in the further recovery of 13 kilos of suspected ketamine, with an approximate value of €770,000.

The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
