Joint Operation – Gardaí and Revenue Customs Operation, €1 million in Cannabis Seized – Two Arrests, Co Louth, 1st April 2026

As part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized 50kg of suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of €1 million, on Wednesday, 1st April 2026 in Castlebellingham, Co Louth.

The joint operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), and Revenue’s Customs Service.

Two males (aged in their 40s) were arrested by An Garda Síochána in connection with the investigation, and is currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a station in the Garda North Western Region.

The seized drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

Investigations are ongoing.
