Gardaí received a call to attend a premises on Neil T. Blaney Road, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal on Thursday, 23rd April 2026 at approximately 3:00pm.
Two Gardaí attended the scene and were assaulted by a male (aged in his 30s).
Gardaí arrested the male and a female (aged in her 30s) who were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in a Garda Station in the Donegal Division.
The two male Gardaí received treatment in hospital for injuries sustained during the incident and have since been discharged.
An Garda Síochána is providing peer support to the injured Gardaí.
The male remains in custody at this time.
The female has since been released and charged in connection with this investigation.
She is due to appear before Letterkenny District Court on Monday 11th May 2026.
Investigations are ongoing.
