Joint Operation - Gardaí and Revenue seize €2.1m Worth of Cannabis, Port of Cork, 27th July 2025

Gardaí and Revenue officers seized approximately 107kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €2.1 million in the Port of Cork today, 28th July 2025.

A total of 93 packages were concealed in the truck, with a total weight of 107.2kg. The estimated street value of the cannabis is €2.1 million (subject to analysis). The truck had arrived from Belgium.

The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Cork Divisional Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service.

Gardaí arrested a man, aged in his 50s, who is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Southern Region.

Investigations are ongoing.
