Operation Shannon - Male arrested by SMVIU in County Monaghan 28th June 2023

As part of ongoing investigations targeting organised criminal groups involved in the theft and resale of high end motor vehicles, an operation was conducted by SMVIU attached to the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation on Wednesday, 28th June, 2023 in Co Monaghan.

In the course of the operation a stolen van bearing false registration plates was recovered and a one man aged in his 30s was arrested. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in County Monaghan.

Investigations are ongoing.
