Court appearance following €19,000 cannabis and cash seizure in Ballyhaunis

Gardaí have seized more than €19,000 worth of suspected cannabis herb and cash at a house in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.

The discovery was made shortly before 8pm on Monday November 2, 2020 when members of the Mayo Divisional Drug Unit carried out a search of a premises in the town.

During the course of the search approximately €17,800 worth of Cannabis Herb (pending analysis) and €1,400 in cash was seized by Gardaí.

One man in his early 20s was arrested and detained at Castlebar Garda Station.

He has since been charged in connection with the seizure and is currently appearing before Castlebar District Court.
