Court Appearance - Robbery at a Takeaway in Cork on 26/11/19

The man in his 20s who was arrested in relation to a robbery at a takeaway on Georges Quay, Cork has since been charged. He is due to appear before Cork District Court this morning, 28th November at 10.30am.

Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s in relation to a robbery at a takeaway on Georges Quay, Cork on the 26th November, 2019.

Shortly before midnight, Gardaí in Anglesea Street received a report of a robbery. A man had entered a takeaway, armed with what is believed to a knife, and had threatened staff. He left the scene empty handed and no staff member was injured during the incident.

Gardaí carried out a search of the area and arrested a man in his 20s on Tower Street. The knife that was believed to have been used in the incident was also seized. He was brought to Bridewell Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
