Return of Persons with Deportation Orders

On 4th December, 2019 members from the Garda National Immigration Bureau assisted in a joint return operation, co-ordinated by Frontex, the EU Border Agency with Ireland performing role of Organising Member State (OMS), in which Iceland and Belgium were Participating Member States (PMS), to remove Albanian and Georgian Nationals, who were the subject of Deportation Orders, from the territory of the Member States of the European Union and Schengen Associated States.

The flight left Dublin Airport with planned stops in Tirana, Albania and Tbilisi, Georgia.  The returnees on this charter comprised of 19 males and 4 females (all adults).

The Department of Justice and Equality Immigration Services engage the International Office for Migration (IOM) to operate voluntary return programmes, which assist persons to return to their countries of origin.
