Arrests and the seizure of a firearm in Clondalkin, Dublin on the 28/8/18

Gardai have seized a firearm and arrested two male following an operation in west Dublin today.

As a result of an intelligence led operation gardai from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a planned search of a house in the Woodavens area of Clondalkin this afternoon. During the search a handgun (subject to technical examination) was recovered and two males arrested.

The two males arrested, in their 30s and 40s, are currently detained at west Dublin Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
