Arrests – Cash in Transit Robbery Oldcastle Co Meath 24/05/17

As a cash in transit employee was making a delivery to a bank at the Square Oldcastle a black car pulled up alongside him. A male with a balaclava covering his face exited this vehicle and threatened the delivery man with a bar. The culprit grabbed the cash box, which contained a sum of money, and made off in the car. This vehicle was later found partially burned out at "Stoney Road” Oldcastle. There were no injuries sustained by the driver of the van.

This morning Gardai from Kells assisted by members from Operation Delivery and the Special Task Force conducted search under Warrant at two locations in the Greater Dublin Area. Two males in their 30s were arrested and were taken to Kells Garda Station where they are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act 1984.
