Unidentified body located at Kinvara, Galway on 19/6/16 has been identified

The body of the male has been identified as an 86 year old retiree who was last seen near Salthill, Co Galway on the 17th June 2016.

A post mortem is due to take place tomorrow the 23rd June 2016 at the morgue Limerick Regional Hospital.

At approximately 8.50pm on Sunday the 19th June 2016 Gardaí in Gort received a report that the body of a male was found washed up on the rocks at Aughinish, Kinvara, Co Clare.

When they went to the scene, they found the body of a male. A local doctor was called and he was pronounced dead at 10pm at scene.
 
The male is of now still unidentified. He is described as between 50 and 70 years, approx. 5'7" in height, reddish hair, receding hair line and blue eyes. His clothing and a number of items found on his person are described  as follows;
 
 
•         Blue Marks and Spencer Easy Care Pyjama, top & bottom
•         Grey Boss V neck Jumper Regular Fit
•         Grey Pin Stripe Trousers and Jacket with Irish Action Autism Badge
•         Black Belt Brass Buckle
•         Pair of Black Mark and Spencers Trouser Braces
•         Grey Debonham and Freeman Zip Jacket Size Small to fit size 38 to 96
•         White handkerchief with light blue stripes on edges
•         Brown Clarke Shoes Size 9 1/2
•         2 Mis-Matched Blue Socks
•         Pink toe spacer in Left Shoe
