Gardaí attached to the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigations arrested a male, 32 years, yesterday afternoon Thursday 2nd June 2016 in connection with an alleged fraud offence on an Italian male based in Italy.
In excess of €300,000 was involved in the transaction and the male was arrested as he attempted to withdraw the funds from a bank earlier today. He was taken to Store Street Garda station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 as amended.
The arrested man was released from Garda custody without charge late last night. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
