As part of an on going operation by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau(DOCB) assisted by National Units,two cars were stopped earlier today the 18th June 2016 in Dublin. A firearm and ammunition was recovered and two males arrested.
One car was stopped on the Naas Dual carriageway shortly before 3pm today, during course of a search of the car, a firearm(pending ballistic examination) and ammunition was recovered. A male(30's) was arrested. Shortly afterwards a second car was stopped on the Long Mile Road, Dublin 12 and the male(30's) driver was arrested. Both are being detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended in Dublin Garda stations.
Investigations are on going.
