As part of an on going operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Kildare area, Gardaí have seized cocaine and cannabis herb with an estimated value of €34,000, pending analysis.
The seizure of cocaine, €14,000 and cannabis herb, €20,000 occurred following the planned search of a premises at Lower Belan, Moone, County Kildare early this morning, Sunday 12th June 2016 shortly after midnight. A quantity of ammunition was also seized. The search was carried out by Athy Gardaí, assisted by the Kildare District Drugs Unit and Athy Traffic Corps.
One man, 23 years, was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Kildare Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 as amended.
