Cash and drugs seized and three men arrested in North Dublin on the 14/6/16

As part of ongoing investigations targeting criminal activity in the Dublin Region , a number of vehicles were stopped on the M1 motorway just north of Swords, Co. Dublin, on the evening of 14th June 2016, by Gardaí from the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau.

During this operation €350,000 in cash was seized and three men in their 40's were arrested. The cash was in vacuum packs, in a holdall bag.

Follow up searches were conducted in a number of areas, with the assistance of Gardaí from the Dublin Region and Cavan District, resulting in a vacuum packing machine and associated equipment being recovered at an address in Tallaght, Dublin 24 and Zopiclone tablets with a street value in excess of €10,000 being recovered at an address in Baileboro, Co. Cavan.

Two of those arrested have been released pending the submission of files to the Director of Public Prosecutions. One remains in custody at Swords Garda Station, detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
