Appeal for Information - Murder of Eddie Hutch, North Strand, Dublin 3 on the 8/2/16

Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of Eddie Hutch last night (8/2/16) at Poplar Row, Dublin 3 have issued an appeal for information.

Assistant Commissioner Jack Nolan, Dublin Metropolitan Region speaking at Store Street Garda Station this evening appealed for information regarding the car used in this incident. Four men arrived at Poplar Row in a Silver 3 Series BMW bearing the registration number 06-G-8965, it is understood that two men fired shots. The four men then left the scene in the BMW and drove up Drumcondra Road and abandoned the car on St Patricks Parade. Investigating Gardaí believe that these men got into  either a dark coloured Isuzu 4 X 4 vehicle or a Toyota Landcruiser and drove onto Lindsay Road . A small black car possibly a Peugeot or Renault was also seen in the area of Poplar Row at the time of the shooting.
 

Investigating Gardaí are also appealing for information from anyone who may have sold fuel in a drinks type bottle to contact the incident room at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01-666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí at Mountjoy in Dublin are investigating a fatal shooting incident which occurred on Poplar Row, North Strand, Dublin 3 at approximately 7.45pm this evening (Monday 8th February 2016) .

A man in his 50’s was shot a number of times and was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The scene is sealed off and a technical examination of the area is taking place.  A full investigation team is in place involving local and national Garda Units.  The office of the State Pathologist has been informed.

Gardaí believe that at least four masked men were involved in this incident. It is understood that they arrived at the scene in a Silver 3 Series BMW which was found abandoned on St Patricks Parade, Drumcondra a short time later.

Gardaí at Fitzgibbon Street in Dublin are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Poplar Row, North Strand, Dublin 3 at approximately 7.45pm this evening (8/2/16).

A man in his 50’s has received gunshot wounds and is described as being in a serious condition.

Emergency services are currently at the scene.
