Tobacco and alcohol seizure in Co Louth on the 20/5/14

Gardaí from Dundalk have recovered a large amount of tobacco with an approx value of €850,000 and various other items following a search at a premises at Proleek, Ravensdale, Dundalk, Co Louth.

The search was conducted at 7.45am this morning 20th May and involved Gardaí from Dundalk, Garda Regional Support Units, and officers from Revenues Customs Service.

During the course of the search Gardaí recovered the tobacco, empty pouches, equipment for sealing pouches, boxes of cigarettes, alcohol labels and 60 litres of what appears to be un-distilled alcohol.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination and the items seized will be taken for analysis. There have been no arrests at this time.
