The bodies of two males discovered on an island in Co Meath on the 26/5/14

Gardaí investigating the disappearance of 32 year old Eoin O'Connor and 33 year old Anthony Keegan have located two bodies on an island on Lough Sheelin in Co Meath.

They were discovered at approximately 4.30pm on the 26th May 2014. The office of the State Pathologist has been notified. The area has been sealed off for a technical examination. The bodies of the two males have not been identified at this stage.

 
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information particularly those from the boating community on Lough Sheelin or anyone who may have been on the Lough between 22nd April 2014 and 26th May 2014 to contact Kells Garda Station on 046 9280820, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai wish to renew their appeal for publics assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 32 year old Eoin O Connor and 33 year old Anthony Keegan.     

Eoin O Connor was last seen on the evening of the 22/04/14 at Kilbarron Avenue, Coolock. He is described as being 6’’ tall, stocky build with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a grey track suit bottoms and a blue windbreaker type jacket with a hood.   

Anthony Keegan is described as being 5’ 10’’ tall, medium build with short brown hair and brown eyes.     

Both men are believed to have travelled together to the Cavan area in a silver Ford Focus car registration 04 D 46380 on the evening of the 22/04/14.     

Gardai located the Ford Focus, 04 D 46380, believed to be used by Eoin O Connor and Anthony Keegan, at the viewing car park Lough Owel, just off the N4 near Mullingar in Westmeath early this morning.  

Gardai wish to appeal to members of the public in their efforts to trace the movements of this car between the evening of the 22/04/14 until early this morning when it was found near the N4. This car is believed to have travelled to the Cavan area in the intervening period.  

Gardai also wish to renew their appeal to anyone who can assist in locating these two men to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 6664400, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
