Gardaí have arrested a man, 33 years, following the robbery of a premises in Ashford, Co. Wicklow yesterday, Thursday 1st May 2014 at approximately 3.30pm.
A male entered a café in Ashford in possession of an implement and threatened staff but left the premises empty handed. No persons were injured during the incident.
Gardaí from the Wicklow Division launched a search operation of the area, resulting in the arrest of one man.
The arrested man was brought to Wicklow Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He was later released from Garda custody and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
