Fatal Road Traffic Collision Cork 5th May 2014

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Killeens, Blarney, Co. Cork shortly before 2am, on Monday 5th May 2014. The driver and only occupant of a car was killed when the vehicle struck a ditch.

The driver, a 24 year old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The body of the man was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place later today. The road in the area is closed pending an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for all road used to take extra care as we approach the end of the holiday weekend.
