Drugs Seizure Tallaght Dublin 2nd May 2014

As part of an intelligence led operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs, Gardaí attached to the Tallaght Drugs Unit have seized firearm and a quantity of cannabis herb. The search occurred at a house in West Tallaght this morning at approximately 7:30am.

During the course of the search, cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €10,000 (pending analysis) was seized as well as two bullet-proof vests, an immitation handgun, gloves, a balaclava, and a quantity of pepper spray.

A male in his early 30s was arrested at the scene on foot of existing bench warrants and was to appear in Tallaght District Court today.
 
These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug siezures also help protect communities from the devasting impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
