As part of on-going intelligence-led operations targeting the activities of a Tallaght based organised crime gang, The Garda National Drug Unit assisted by the Tallaght District Drug Unit have arrested two males and seized cannabis.

Early this morning gardai stopped two vehicles at the Northwest Business Park, Dublin 15. Two males, 30’s and 40’s, were arrested at the scene and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €1.5 million (pending analysis) was seized.

The two males are currently detained at Finglas and Clondalkin Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
