Dissident Arrests Co Louth 25th May 2014

As part of ongoing investigations into the activities of Dissident republicans Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit assisted by Gardaí from Crime & Security carried out an operation in the Kilcurry area of Co Louth this evening (25/5/14)

During the course of this operation five men were arrested ranging in ages from early 70’s to mid 50’s. They are detained at Drogheda and Dundalk Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act. A suspect device was recovered during this operation which will be examined by a Defence Forces EOD team.

Investigations are continuing.
