Court Appearance - Suspect Device at a Lucan Hotel on the 10/5/14

A man in his 50s is expected to appear before the Special Criminal Court, at the Criminal Courts of Justice, today 13th May 2014 at 12.45pm.

The man was arrested in Dublin on Sunday morning last.

Gardaí at Lucan investigating the discovery of a suspect device, which was discovered in the car park of a hotel on Saturday, the 10th May 2014, have arrested a man.


The viable device was located in a car in the car park of the hotel at approximately 9pm on May 10th 2014. Gardaí from Lucan and Ronanstown attended the scene. The premises attached to the carpark were evacuated and an Army EOD team attended at the scene. The device was made safe and deemed to be viable.
 

A man in his 50s was arrested earlier today, 11th May, and he is detained at Lucan Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.  He may be detained for up to 72 hours.
