A 27 year old man who has been detained at Kilkenny Garda Station in relation to the fatal stabbing of a female (26 years)
which occurred at the Market Cross Shopping Centre in Kilkenny at approximately 8.30pm on Thursday night will appear before a Special Sitting of Kilkenny District Court today Saturday 10th May, 2014 at 1p.m. charged in connection with the stabbing.

Gardaí at Kilkenny are investigating a fatal stabbing which occurred at a shop at the Market Cross Shopping Centre in Kilkenny at approximately 8.30pm last night (8/5/14).
A female in her late 20’s received serious stab wounds during the incident and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 27year old male has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently detained at Kilkenny Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The scene is preserved pending a Garda technical and forensic examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
