Seizure of Counterfeit Products and Arrests 7th June, 2014

As part of the ongoing investigation into organized crime and as a result of a complaint made to An Garda Siochana, an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of counterfeit laundry products has resulted in Gardai arresting three men.

The arrests were made at Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole, Co. Dublin at approximately 12 noon yesterday afternoon, 7th June 2014 after a survellience operation was put in place.

The three men (ages ranging from mid 30s to late 50s) were conveyed to Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations and were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. All three men have been released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A large quantity of raw materials that was used in the manufacture of these counterfeit products was also seized and a number of items of evidence. The value of the seizure is estimated in the region of €40,000.  

This investigation is also working hand in hand with the #TurnBackCrime initiative, which is INTERPOL's global public awareness campaign to highlight the dangers of organized crime and its impact on everyday life.
