Irish Open Golf Championship 2014 in Fota Island Golf Resort from the 18th - 22nd June 2014

The Irish Open Golf Championship 2014 will be held at the Fota Island Golf Resort from the 18th to 22nd June 2014.

 Up to 100,000 spectators are expected to visit the resort during the event. Gardaí have a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan in place details of which can be found on the Garda website Here

Speaking from Midleton Garda station today Superintendent John Quilter said -

"We welcome all visitors to Cork for the upcoming Irish Open Golf Championship at the Fota Resort Golf Resort from 18th to the 22nd of June.

Public transport will be the easiest, quickest and most direct way of getting to the Championship. Fota has its own train station and we encourage the public to use the Public Rail network that will bring you directly onto the golf course.

For those travelling by car we ask you to obey the directions of Gardaí and stewards at all times and to follow the relevant signage in the vicinity of the course to ensure you arrive at your destination safely"
