Witness appeal to assault on Lower Sheriff Street, Dublin on the 8th June 2014

Gardai in Store Street wish to appeal for witnesses to an assault that occurred at the taxi rank Lower Sheriff Street, Dublin 1, at approximately 10pm on the 8th June 2014.

A male taxi driver (driving a black VW Passat) was involved in an altercation with two males. The two males were then joined by a large number of youths and resulted in the taxi driver and another male, who tried to intervene, requiring hospital treatment and two taxi cars being extensively damaged.  
 

Both males were taken to the Mater Hospital and were later discharged.

 
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who may have been in the Lower Sheriff Street/ Amiens Street area around the time of the incident or to anyone who can assist with the investigation to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01- 6668000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
