Witness appeal - Road traffic incident Lockview Road, Dublin on the 22/12/14

A male aged in his 20s is expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court (C.C.J.) this evening (23/12/2014) charged with a number of alleged road traffic offences following an incident in Dublin on Monday 22nd December 2014.

At approximately 19.45hrs yesterday evening (22/12/2014) a van failed to stop for Gardaí on Lockview Road, Dublin 22. The van was followed by Gardaí before being abandoned in the south inner city area a short time later. A male aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to Clondalkin Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. It’s understood the van was taken earlier in the day during the course of a burglary. 
 

A  Garda (male) was treated in hospital for injuries arising from the incident, he was later discharged.

 
The investigation is ongoing.
