Drug Seizure & Arrests Artane 19th December, 2014

As part of an ongoing investigation by Gardaí in DMR (North) into the illegal sale and supply of controlled substances a car was stopped and searched on the Malahide Road, Artane, Dublin 5 late on Friday night 19th December, 2014.

During the search Gardai discovered 1 kilo of cannabis herb with an estimated value of €25,000 (pending analysis). Three men, all in early 20s, were arrested and are currently detained at Clontarf Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.

These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
