Robbery Artane male 31 years arrested 20th April 2014

Gardaí at Coolock have arrested a male, 31 years, following a robbery which occurred at a petrol station on Kilmore Road, Artane, Dublin, this afternoon, Sunday 20th April 2014 at approximately 5pm.

A male entered the premises armed with what is described as a bladed implement and threatened staff before fleeing on foot with the proceeds of the cash register. No persons were injured during the incident.

Gardaí on routine mobile patrol observed this male and gave chase. The male was arrested close to the scene. Gardaí recovered a weapon and a quantity of cash.

The male is currently detained at Coolock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Investigations are ongoing.
