Fatal road traffic collision in Co Clare on the 3rd April 2014

Gardaí can confirm that an eight year old boy, Ultan Hayes, seriously injured in a collision yesterday evening in Whitegate, Co Clare has died in hospital from his injuries. His father (41 year) was also injured but not seriously.

The collision, which occurred at 9.10pm 3rd April 2014, is under investigation by Gardaí.
The man and his son were injured when the quad bike they were travelling on hit a stone wall. There was no other vehicle involved in the crash. The boy was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital with serious injuries and later transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital.
