Fatal road traffic collision at Ballinamere, Offaly on the 3/4/14

Gardai in Tullamore investigating a serious road traffic collision on the Tullamore to Rahan Road on the 3rd April 2014 can confirm that the pedestrian a 10 year old boy was pronounced dead at the Midland Regional hospital in Tullamore today.

A post mortem will take place later today.

 
The road remains closed.

Gardai in Tullamore are investigating a serious road traffic collision on the Tullamore to Rahan Road on the 3rd April 2014.


The collision occurred at approximately 9.15am at Ballykilmurray (two miles outside Tullamore)when a car collided with a pedestrian, a 10 year old boy.  The boy was seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Midland Regional  hospital in Tullamore.

The road has been closed for a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have been on the road between 9am and 9.20am today the 3rd April to contact the Gardai in Tullamore on 057 9327600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
