Cash-in-transit robbery Dublin 26th April 2014

Gardaí have arrested a male following a robbery at Clare Hall Shopping Centre, Malahide Road, Dublin, on the 26th of April 2014.

At approximately 12.10pm a male approached and threatened a cash-in-transit employee with an iron bar. He took a cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money and made his escape in a waiting car.

During a follow up operation Gardaí from Coolock arrested a 20-year-old male. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Coolock Garda Station. The car used in the raid was located a short distance from the scene and has been preserved for a technical examination. The cash box has not been recovered and enquiries are ongoing.
