Burglary in Mitchelstown, Cork on the 13/6/13

Gardai are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork on Thursday, the 13th June 2013.

At approximately 11 p.m. four masked and armed raiders entered a residence of a 59-year-old male at Carrigane, Mitchelstown. A number of shots were fired and the man sustained a minor gun shot wound to his leg during the incident. Two females also aged in their 50s were present in the house at the time. The occupants of the house were tied up before the raiders left the scene with a small amount of cash along with a wine coloured BMW car. This car, which has a partial registration number LB10, was later seen travelling on the M8 motorway. The injued man was taken to Cork University Hospital where he recieved treatment for his injuries. He has since been released.


Gardai are appealing for information and in particular to anybody in the vicinity between 1030p.m. and 1130p.m. or who may have observed a wine coloured BMW to contact the incident room at Mitchelstown Garda Station 025-84833 or Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
