€5 million worth of controlled substances seized on the 4/6/13

As part of a joint operation between the Garda National Drug Unit, Dublin Castle and the Revenue Customs Service a large amount of cannabis herb (80 kilos) and approximately 350,000 ecstasy tablets (all subject to analysis) has been discovered with an estimated street value of €5million.

During the course of a search of a  premises at Rosemount Business Park, Blanchrdstown Dublin 15 at approx 7.30pm on the 5th June 2013 Gardai and Customs discovered the controlled substances.


A 41 year old male was arrested in relation to the discovery and is currently detained under the provisions of section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
