Appeal - Armed Robbery at College Green, Dublin on the 22/11/12

Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for information in relation to an armed robbery on the Bank of Ireland on College Green today (22/11/12).

At approximately 11.40am two men armed with a handgun and a shotgun entered the foreign exchange department of the bank.  One of the raiders threatened staff and demanded cash.  Both raiders fled the bank via the side entrance and ran on foot onto College Green, Fleet Street, Princess Street and then onto Aston Quay where they hailed a taxi.  They produced a firearm in the taxi and ordered the driver out, they then drove the taxi to St Michaels Estate, Dublin 8 where they abandoned the vehicle. 
 

There were no injuries during the robbery. 
 

The raiders are described as follows: 
 

1.                  Late 20’s / Early 30’s, 5’10” to 6’ in height/ average build, wearing a dark blue jacket with a hood, dark scarf over his face and carried a small black handgun.  He spoke with a Dublin accent.

2.                  Mid 40’s / 5’ 7” to 5’8” in height, thin build, wearing a dark jacket, dark hat and scarf and in possession of a shotgun. He also spoke with a Dublin accent.
