Cannabis cultivation operation in Co. Cork on the 7/3/12

Gardai in Skibereen have discovered a cannabis cultivation operation at a house on North Street in the town.

The discovery took place at about 1.50pm on the 7th of March 2012. 
 

Gardai were first alerted to the area when a fire broke out in the building and fire-fighters tackling the blaze discovered the cannabis growing operation in the upstairs portion of the premises. 
 

In excess of 500 cannabis plants were discovered which have a total value (pending analysis) of over €200,000.  The incident is under investigation, as yet no arrests have been made.
