Human Remains discovered near Military Road, Tallaght, Dublin on the 8/1/12 - Male arrested

Gardai investigating the murder of James Kenny McDonagh have arrested a male in his 20's in connection with the incident. He was arrested in Dublin earlier today, the 18th January 2012.

He is being detained under the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended at Kilmainham Garda Station.

Gardaí at Tallaght investigating the discovery of human remains on Sunday, the 8th January 2012 at Slievenabawnoge, Military Road have identified them as that of James Kenny McDonagh from Islandbridge, Dublin 8.

10th January 2012. 

Gardaí at Tallaght are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of human remains in forestry near Military Road. Tallaght, Dublin 24 this morning, the 8th January 2012.

 Investigating Gardaí were alerted to this situation by members of the public who were walking in the area. The scene has been preserved. The Garda technical bureau is currently at the scene and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.  

The remains will be taken to the City Morgue in Marino this evening where an examination is expected to take place on Monday (9/1/12).

Gardaí in Kilmainham are appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of 28 year old James Kenny McDonagh.  James, who is from Islandbridge Court, Dublin 8, was last seen in the Bluebell/Ballyfermot area around 3pm on Wednesday the 27th October 2010.  He was driving a Wine Coloured Mazda 6.

James’ Family and Gardaí are concerned for his safety following the discovery of his car which was discovered at Milltown on the evening of the 27th October 2010.
