Fatal road traffic collision in Drogheda, Louth on the 16/1/12

Gardai in Drogheda are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the 16th January 2012.

At approximately 5.30pm a female pedestrian, aged in her 70's, was seriously injured when she was struck by a motor car at Scarlet Street, Drogheda.  She was taken by Ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  The driver of the motor car, a woman aged in her 60's, was also taken to Hospital.

 
The street is closed pending a technical examination and diversions are in place.
