Armed robbery at Post Office in Lismore, Waterford on the 3/1/12

Gardaí at Dungarvan are investigating the circumstances of an armed robbery at a Post Office in Lismore, Co. Waterford, on the 3rd January 2012.

At approximately 10am two men armed with a firearm and a hammer entered the Post Office and threatened staff before making off with a 'cash bag'. 
 

During a follow up operation two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested when Garda stopped a car in the Dungarvan area. They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act,1939, at Dungarvan Garda Station.
 

At this stage of the investigation is believed the bag taken contained documents only. There are no reported injuries.
