Arrest in relation to the Murder of Darren Guerrine on the 18/2/08

Gardai in Kilmainham have arrested two men today, the 3rd December 2012, in relation to the murder of 21 year old Darren Guerrine on the 18th February 2008.

Both men are being detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939. One of the men is in his mid 30s and is being detained at Kilmainham Garda Station.  The second man is in his late 20s and is being held at Kevin Street Garda Station.
Both men can be detained for a total of 72 hours.

Gardai are investigating the discovery of the body of a male believed to be in his late teens or early twenties.

The body was discovered shortly before 8 a.m on the 18th of February 2008 on the bank of the Grand Canal between Kylemore Road and the Naas Road and appears to have head injuries.

The scene in the area is preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist's Office has been notified.

When more details become available updates will be issued.
