Shooting Incident at Ballyfermot, Dublin on the 7/9/11

Gardaí at Ballyfermot are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at 3.20pm this afternoon (7/9/11).

A man in his 40’s was approached by a lone gunman and shot approximately three times in the upper body on Oranmore Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10.  The injured man has been removed to St. James Hospital where his condition is described as critical. 
 

The gunman is believed to made his escape on a pedal cycle. 
 

The scene of the shooting is sealed off pending a Garda Technical Examination. 
 

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnesses this incident or who may have information to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station 01-666-7200, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
