Fatal hit and run at Carbury, Kildare on the 13/9/11 - Male arrested

Gardai investigating the fatal road traffic collision on the 13th September 2011 have arrested a male in his 20’s at lunchtime on the 14/9/11.

He is currently detained at Lexlip Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. 
 

Gardai wish to renew their appeal for witnesses to this collision or to anyone who may have seen the cyclist or who can assist with the investigation to contact Lexlip Garda Station on 01-666 7800, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai in Carbury, Co Kildare are investigating the circumstances of a fatal hit and run road traffic collision on the Kinnegad to Edenderry road on the 13th September 2011.

The collision occured on the Kinnegad to Edenderry Road (R401) at Carrick approx 3 miles from Carbury.  The collision between a male cyclist (61yrs) and a vehicle occurred at approx 8.55pm on the 13th September 2011.  The vehicle failed to remain at the scene. The cyclist received fatal injuries and has been taken to Naas General Hospital.


 The road is closed for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.


Witnesses or anyone who may have seen the cyclist on the road or who may have information in relation to the collision are asked to contact the Gardai in Leixlip on 01 666 7800.
