Discovery of body in Macroom, Cork on the 15/9/11 - Male arrested

Gardaí at Macroom investigating the death of a man (42yrs) at Masseystown, Macroom, Cork, at approximately 10am on Thursday, the 15th September 2011 have arrested a 30 year old male this afternoon, the 22nd September 2011.

The male was taken to Bandon Garda Station where he is being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

The post mortem examination carried out on a 42 year old man whose body was discovered in a house at Masseystown , Macroom, Co Cork on the 15/9/11 has been concluded.

The results have been furnished to investigating Gardaí, however for operational reasons details will not be released at this stage.  

A 32 year old man arrested on 15/9/11 in connection with this incident was released last night 16/9/11. Investigations are continuing.

Gardaí at Macroom are investigating the discovery of the body of a 42 year old man at a house in Masseystown, Macroom, Co. Cork, at approximately 10am this morning, Thursday 15th September 2011.  

The scene of the discovery has been examined by assistant state pathologist Margaret Bolster and she will conduct a post mortem at Cork University Hospital tomorrow morning at 9.30am.
