Gardai are investigating a fatal road traffic collision at Thornfield, Portumna, Galway at 11.25 a.m. on the 31st October 2011.
The crash involved two cars and a teenaged girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other female occupants of the same car were removed to University College Hospital Galway. There were four people in the second car two men and two children, their injuries are not known.
The road at the scene of the crash is closed pending an examination by forensic collision investigators.
