Dublin court appearance for burglaries investigation

All five (5) people who remain in custody are expected to appear at the Dublin District Court at The Criminal Courts of Justice, at1 0.30 a.m on Monday the 3rd October 2011.

Where they are expected to be charged with burgalry, criminal damage and handling stolen property.

As part of an operation to combat large scale burglaries in the city centre gardai in Pearse Street have this morning arrested 9 Romanian nationals.   

Following their arrest at 7.15am the nine individuals (seven males and two females) were detained at various garda stations in the city centre.   

Five males (ages ranging from mid teens to mid 30’s) remain detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.   

The other two males (27 years and 22 years) are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.   

One female (23 years) was arrested for outstanding warrants and has been before the courts. The second female (35 years) was removed to prison under Immigration Legislation.
