Fatal road traffic collision in Macroom, Cork on the 30/11/11

Gardai in Macroom are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occured on the N22 from Macroom to Killarney in the townland of Mons at 2.20p.m. this afternoon, Wednesday 30th November 2011.

The collision occured between a truck and a car.  The driver of the car, a man in his early 50's was fatally injured.  The truck driver was uninjured.
 
The road is currently closed in both directions and diversions are in place.
