Garda Traffic Information for Co. Tipperary on Monday 23/5/11

Visit of President Barack Obama.

From 1pm on Monday 23rd May 2011 the M7 Motorway at Junction 22 (Roscrea) to Junction 25 (Nenagh) will be closed during the visit of the President of the USA to Moneygall, Co. Offaly. It is anticipated that the motorway will re-open between Junction 22 and Junction 25 at 4:30pm on Monday 23rd May 2011.

 

Traffic will be diverted at Roscrea Junction 22 via the N62 to Templemore, the R501 to Borrisoleigh and the R498 to Nenagh where traffic can re-enter the M7 Motorway for Limerick at Junction 25.

 

Traffic will be diverted at Nenagh Junction 25 via the R498 to Borrisoleigh, the R501 to Templemore and the N62 to Roscrea where traffic can re-enter the M7 Motorway for Dublin at Junction 22.

 

The R445 (old N7) will also be closed to traffic during this time between Toomevara and Dunkerrin and no traffic will be allowed to proceed between these locations. Alternative routes will be put in place and motorists are asked to follow the signage and directions of gardai on duty.

 

From Saturday 21st May at 6pm there will be no exit from the Motorway at Junction 23 into Moneygall, however motorists leaving Moneygall in the directions of Limerick and Dublin will be able to use the M7 Motorway until the motorway is closed between Junction 22 and Junction 25 on Monday 23rd May 2011 at 1pm.

 

Traffic restrictions will be in place and advisory signs will indicate local diversionary routes. Motorway closures and all local traffic restrictions will only remain in place for the minimum amount of time necessary.
