Garda Information relating to the Dublin area for the Visit of HM Queen Elizabeth II from 17 to 20 May 2011

Daily information and traffic updates will be provided from Monday, 16 May 2011. The following general information is available ahead of the visit.

General advice:<_o3a_p>

Ø      All business and commercial activity will continue as normal in <_st13a_place _w3a_st="on"><_st13a_city _w3a_st="on">Dublin city. <_o3a_p>

Ø      There will be diversions and rolling road closures which will be flagged in advance.<_o3a_p>

Ø      Gardaí will maintain a high visible presence both outside the city environs and in the city centre to facilitate traffic movement.<_o3a_p>

Ø      There will be parking restrictions in the city centre from 06:00 a.m. on Saturday 14 May 2011 (see details below).<_o3a_p>

Ø      People should use public transport where possible. Where there are amendments to routes and/or timetables that information will be communicated to the travelling public and commuters are advised to check for timetable and route changes closer to their journey time. There may be brief disruptions to public transport.<_o3a_p>

Ø      Existing Park and Ride facilities continue to be available and are advertised.<_o3a_p>

Ø      People are advised to plan their journeys in advance including routes and parking options at their final destination. They should also confirm appointments prior to travelling.<_o3a_p>

Ø      The public is advised to leave extra time for their journeys and to expect some congestion and delays.<_o3a_p>

Ø      For security reasons, there will be periodic searches of pedestrians and vehicles by members of An Garda Síochána at key locations.<_o3a_p>

Ø      Gardaí are liaising with business and local residents in the key locations and will continue to communicate directly with them.<_o3a_p>

The following roads are among the routes that will be subject to temporary closures at various times between 17 May and 20 May 2011 (full details to be notified to the public when finalised and closer to the time):<_o3a_p>

A number of diversions will be put in place on a rolling basis throughout the city. Further details will be available in coming days and diversion points will be notified using Variable Message Signs and a Garda presence.<_o3a_p>

There will be no parking in the following areas from 06:00 on Saturday 14 May to Friday 20 May 2011. Barriers will be placed along all or some of these routes over the same time period.<_o3a_p>

Garda Information relating to Co. Kildare for the Visit of HM Queen Elizabeth II on 19 May 2011<_o3a_p>

<_o3a_p> 

At this point there are no planned motorway closures on the M7/M9 on Thursday 19 May 2011. However, traffic travelling both northbound and southbound will be slowed down in key areas and at certain times by marked Garda vehicles.<_o3a_p>

<_o3a_p> 

There will be periodic temporary closure of Exits (from Exit 5 to Exist 12 M7 and Exit 2 M9) between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.<_o3a_p>

<_o3a_p> 

Traffic diversions will be in place in the greater <_st13a_place _w3a_st="on"><_st13a_placename _w3a_st="on">Kildare<_st13a_placetype _w3a_st="on">Town area from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The R413 (The Curragh to <_st13a_street _w3a_st="on"><_st13a_address _w3a_st="on">Kilcullen Road) will be closed to through traffic from 9.30am to 3.30pm and will re-open in rolling locations.  There will be no vehicular access to this route during these times.<_o3a_p>

There will be traffic diversions around the Curragh side of Kildare/Newbridge/The Curragh Camp/Athgarvan/Kilcullen (access to/from the R413 from 9.30am to 3.30pm)
